Copycats?

Just so as to clear doubts regarding any uncertainty.

Though it may seem that there are people who have presumed that there is a 'copying' issue going on, we are here to declare otherwise. Magnum Force and Bangkok University (BU) have been, and are very good friends with one another.

Yes we won't deny it, the routine in the Thai Movie (done by BU) in 2003 and Magnum's routine in 2005 are more or less the same. This routine was taught to Magnum by the BU's coach, Toey, for our performances. The seniors of Magnum Force, after learning the routine, wanted to spread cheerleading and therefore passed on the routine to the next generation of cheerleaders. Toey is also fine with his routine being passed down. Toey would be coming down to Singapore in March therefore anyone who wishes to clarify anything with him may contact our coach, Lenny.

Magnum Force understands that copyright gives the owner of the 'creation' exclusive rights. However, copyright infringement happens only if someone else were to assume these rights without permission. In this case, Magnum Force has obtained the permission from the owner, which is Toey. Therefore, we believe there isn't a problem concerning copyright.

Magnum Force is a cheerleading group that learns from other cheer squad teams and we improve from there. Learning doesn't stop just because we were once 5 times champions. And Magnum definitely does not just lean on its past successes. We want to achieve more, and to learn more from others who have achieved greater.

Inspiration comes from inspired thoughts of the greatness that others have achieved.

Cheers with hope that it clears the air,
denise

Magnum Force Jacket 2008

Yesh ! We'll be doing a Team Jacket this year again, this time in a different design incorporating 2008's theme. The Jacket will be tailor-made with thick polyster cotton (to keep you warm with especially @ lectures and cold workplaces) and an inside satin lining for comfort. oh yeah ! pockets at the sides to store your barang barangs. Also an embroided word cheer in front and a newly designed MAGNUM LOGO illuminating the back. Unfortunately, we can't show it online yet, the logo will also be used for 2008's uniform.

Seniors, please contact Lenny if you'll like to get hold of this year's jacket, the price ranges from $40 - $60 bucks ! The more buyers the cheaper it gets. So please pass the message to as many graduated seniors as possible. Thanks !

Buy it if you like it ! LOVES !

Keep Up the Good Job

Sometimes training and studies seem to get the better of us.

But we know we can do it.
And through mistakes we get stronger,
and crying only means we have the compassion to feel something.

Everyone's a team
and united we stand like a 1-1-1, divided we crumble down.
We're strong cheerleaders, and champions at that too.
We're like a 1-1-1
and NO ONE can take that thought away from us.

Open House 2008

Magnum had our 2008 Open House!

From the 17th - 19th of January, Magnum had the privilege of performing. And this time, it was the juniors who perform! It was truly an experience for the juniors for it was the time they performed all together!

Go check them out! (this was their rehearsal during the first day)

They all practiced really hard before the performance, so bravo for them!
Behind the scenes though, the seniors too came down and helped the juniors out. Ee Ling, Emily Chua, Xiang Ying etc. were some of the few seniors that came down to help the juniors to tie up their hair and to do the make up. They were really awesome! For that, the juniors (especially the girls) thank them! The other seniors came down to support their juniors and to check out their very first performance! The juniors really thank the seniors so much for loving us and coming down just to support us and watch us FLY.

Overall, the three days have really been truly spectacular for the juniors.
Hearing the crowds cheer for them, performing as a team together, and getting to do something proud for magnum ... It was amazing! And I can say that, cause I am a junior myself! =)

Well done Juniors, we all did it. With the magnum family behind us, the 11 of us pulled it the best we could, and we rocked at it!

Loves,
Denise =)
