MEET AT 5.45 PM ( WHOOPS FORGOT TO INCLUDE IN THE POSTER )

Yes ! Magnum is recruiting again and we are looking out for anyone who is just about enthusiatic about challenging yourselves as we are. Don't cha worry, cause there won't be auditions to make it into this cheerleading team. Come with an open mind, a bag of guts and a keen sense of learning and you're all ready and set to go !
If you've been thinking of cheerleading or have this slight tinkle in you that wants to kill that curiousity of "HOW THE HELL DID THAT GUY LIFT A GIRL ON ONE HAND?"...come learn the tricks of the trade...cause cheerleading looks tough, but nothing can get in your way if you love new challenges.

Since CCA Fiesta is over and many have already signed up, TRAINING WILL BEGIN this coming tuesday on the 22nd of April, 5.45pm at BLK 16 Sports Complex, meet @ the snack bar in your training attire and sport shoes. Girls, you wanna get some tights under those shorts. Oh yeah and bring along that sportittude, cause all cheerleaders are fun, crazy, performing atheletes by nature.
Please, please, please try to turn up then so we can fill you up with fun & games, introducing our world of cheerleading to you and maybe do a flip or two. Now don't you worry if you really can't make it, cause we train on other days too. However, please leave your interest by dropping us an email to cca_cheer@np.edu.sg

OR check out our notice board @ Blk 16 Sports Complex for Updates.

OR drop a message to our team president, Serena @ 97803824

See....there are so many ways for you not to give yourself a reason to not come and experience MAGNUM FORCE.

Cheers,
THE MAGNUM COMMITTEE 08' !!

A History Unfold

Magnum Mama, Justina Long, sent over some pics of cheerleading when Magnum first began, to remember our other Seniors, Jane Kor after her tragic death. Although we have never met her before, we want to recognise her contributions to Magnum. These were picture taken back in the early early 90's. Magnum Mama, also did mention that this was also the second batch of uniform Magnum made, she has offered to donate the uniform back to the team, to display our history. She has also promised more photos to come of our seniors in action. For those who didn't know, Magnum was formed in 1988, cheerleading has been part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic for 19 years. And these were the very first batches of Magnum Cheerleaders. Its time to dig up some magnanimous history.

Our Deepest Sympathy.

I remembered when i first picked up the newspaper on March 28th, where i read the shocking headlines of a sole survivor, baby Jolene. This mircaculous baby who was flunged more than 10m, survived after a horrific crash along Malaysia's North-South Highway. Both her parents, grandmother and brother died in the crash. The extend of this crash and the survivor of baby Jolene was just heart-wrenching. A few days later, i received an sms from our Magnum MaMa, Justina Long (She and her friends were the first committee of Magnum back in 1988),expressing her sadness of the death of our senior Jane Kor. Needless to say, i had no idea, our Senior Jane was the mother of Baby Jolene, who died tragically in this crash.

Magnum Mama Jane Kor's Tragedy

STRAITS TIMES ARTICLE

Senior Jane Kor, played a part in forming the Magnum Force we are all now so deeply part of. She formed the 3rd committee of Magnum and graduated from the squad in 1992Her committment and involvment, during her time in Magnum has allowed this cheerleading team to continue its passion. She was a top flyer, where her senior Justina Long, described how tall and proud she stood at the top of a pyramid.

As her Juniors and part of Magnum Force, the team sents her family our Deepest Condolences and Sympathy. We hope for nothing but the best for Baby Jolene.

Please continue reading for pictures of our Senior, Jane Kor's cheerleading days.

With Deepest Sympathy,
Magnum Force
