Japan here we come. Japan here we really come !!! Thank you school, seniors, juniors, friends and family for all the support that you've given to us. We will do our very best in japan. We will put on a very good show at competition and work it to bring yoyogi stadium down. Shout out to the juniors who came up with that awesome cheer. It was simply brilliant and a great motivational boost. Love ya guys !!! Unfortunately there will not be wireless where we are staying, but will definitely try our very best to get to an internet cafe of some sort to update ya'll.

Cheerleaders gone Commercial
So anyway, the ndp briefing sure went "well". In the previous post, we did mention that some of us were going to do some commerical thingy for NDP. So exciting right ! Argghh..its actually the first media briefing for National Parade, just some bunch of reporters asking a whole lot of questions and us performing in a small small area, with a low low roof. Oh wellz, at least we do get a little publicity, heard its gonna be on the news. The instructors were suppose to be there to do a mini performance to introduce the Singapore Cheer, that will mark NDP 2008. Unfortunately only amy and citra could make it, cause they had no school..so had to rope shawoon in for help. Karen.N and Zhaoming came to, cause they needed 6 cheerleaders to do the event. Poor shawoon had to have extra training the SUNDAY night before to pratice the arm motions for the cheer, only to later find out, that all he had to do was stunt. Good effort, you learn something new everyday dude, don't fret. So aniwaez, we came up with a small sequence to entertain the soulja boys who were oogling at our cheerleaders (the girls) and showing off their guns (right). This really weird guy, came up to us and told us how important it was to be high in energy and raise an atmosphere of fun, he actually tried to motivate us by talking like a cheerleader. A retarded one that is. LOL. Really bueh tahan, i was trying so hard to be professional, but i burst out in controlled laughter, it really didn't help that he was old and balding. So, they told us at first we had to do it once, then later twice, then later they wanted us to extend the cheer by repeating it. Haiz, kena cheated, then still wanna take advantage of us. Oh!! and did i forget to mention that it was only a rehearsal, the actual event is tomorrow morning!! thanks ar. There better be a good tea reception for us to munch on after the briefing, hopefully from Ritz Carlton, since its just opposite. Muahaha.
Speaking of commericals, Magnum did do a couple in the previous years, unfortunately the Sagiko (can drink) one was never aired on local television. Any one seen a Sagiko commercial of a bunch of brazilian cocopops doing cheerleading ??? Heres one i found on youtube that we did for the Anti-Sars campaign back in 2005 from 2.35mins onwards...some say leh, some say lah...magnum say, wa ha ha ha !!!
Friends from Bangkok U, did a Welch juice commercial as well, harhar, BU in tighty spandex as anti-oxidents. Love the commerical, its damn creative lah.
Omg, just realise how much we're missing BU, can't wait to see them real soon. Btw, they are really excited for us going to CAIO and send their regards. Unfortunately they can't make it to japan due to some association problem thingy in Thailand. But Hey BU, we'll meet real soon, here in Singapore, if everything goes well. Really really miss you guys.
to end this post with a laugh is just a great idea and i especially dedicate this video to the juniors and those who need to go to the gym. Heres a cheer to motivate you to start going !!! plus !!! Gym werkz is totally free...

INSIGHT : Juniors Training
html codes are killing me !!! why did i not pay attention during computer classes?? geez, people the blog is officially still under construction. please forgive the messy outlook of this magnum blog at the same time look out for the new blog design. this webmaster is trying very hard to keep the blog as informative and updated as possible. Next step...link the magnies blog to the web, link other cheerleading websites that can be useful information to everyone and change the header of this blog. Guys, if you've got any suggestions please tag about it.
So whats new ? Training for National Day was was..was..pure madness. What an experience ! Getting 240 students to do a routine is chaotic enough, getting 240 students to do a cheerleading routine ? Har ! They better start paying attention and keep their participation rate high, cause they have no idea what they are getting themselves into if they don't ! Poor instructors have to face some rebellious beings, i guess it does happen when u get a bunch of unwilling students who signed up for bonus points to get into University. At the end of the day is the school malu. tsk tsk. Anyway, tomorrow some of us are going to shoot the commercial for NDP, so catch us on TV real soon..."ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE SINGAPORE" yeah !!
Looking forward to the combine training with the other cheerleading teams in Singapore. Its a first and a great effort to pull the teams together to exchange and share our cheerleading experiences. Click on the banner above to get your updates on NDP 2008 and don't forget to get your tixs !!!
The Juniors are rocking, moving on to shoulder stands now, they've covered most of the basic techniques and are really getting to know each other. Talents and potentials are showing, and they really come in all sizes. lol. Well...welcome to the family, and keep working hard. Cheerleading is a skilled sport, that pays off through hardwork and perserverence. Work with the basics and you'll learn alot. FiFi's been really multi tasking, taking photos and training at the same time. Here are some pics he took of the juniors at our last training. Thanks Fi. Keep it up ! grin.

Shout outs to MagFreshs !!
So whats been going on with Magnum for the past few weeks? Well Well, we've been
1) Busy welcoming our 20th Batch of Magnies ! Yesh 20th batch !!! Honestly, it was a shocker this year, 111 (1-1-1) lol, signed up willingly. This does show how much cheerleading in Singapore is getting recognised by this budding enthusiasts. And we are extremely proud of the guys who stepped up to sign up for cheerleading, what honest pride you have and not submerge in peer pressure of stereo typical remarks. *CLAP, CLAP, CLAP *.....Looks like partner stunts is the direction that Magnum is going to conquer alot this year...lol....good influence, make good followers !!! Kentucky, UCF, Top Gun, Step. F. Austin, here we come!!! woot !!! The juniors are rocking, its still pretty early to tell by character, but with that fresh burst of energy, we can't wait to see the results =)
2) Preparing for National Day Parade.
A few of the seniors has been serving our nation, they have been performing the national duty of cheerleading trainers. Amy, Andra, Citra, Jen, Serena and Zhiliang have been to JC's to spread the cheer, as in the "ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE SINGAPORE CHEER" and routine. If you didn't know already, this year there will be a mass cheerleading display at NDP...so don't miss out !!! Choreographing the whole display of almost 300 cheerleaders is going to be great challenge, can't wait to get to it. Catch Magnum perform with other experience cheerleading teams from Singapore as part of the Display. You won't be dissapointed !! OOOOhh... NDP trainers ! The combine training is next Wednesday @ 2pm, dunch forget.
3) Training hard for CAIO,
Yesh, we are going to Japan for the Cheerleadiing Asian International Opening, and we have been trying out a couple new stunts. Sadly birthday boy can't join us on the trip, so we gotta touch up and switch a few positions here and there. Like what emi said, " its time to DOSTUNTNA ". Since we are going there soley for experience, of cause with a good routine, was thinking of documenting our journey. Whatcha guys think ? Like...MAGNUM GOES JAP.
.......after japan we have bonding camp...hrrrmmmm....heh heh...*evil fun tots*
In the meantime, check out the Orientation Booklet winner, Karen Neo's work...got some good information and hilarious pictures of the seniors when they were still a virgin to cheerleading, those year 1 days..lol!!NICE PICS KAREN !! If you are still interested to be part of this family, read and absorb and drop us a mail or call us =)
